What Exactly Is Provided?
An eligible consumer may receive an additional water allocation of up to 3.5 cubic meters each month at the lower tariff. This is not a discount on all water consumption or a fixed-percentage reduction of the bill.
Under the applicable rules, the benefit is associated with the consumer and the property in which the eligible person lives. In a building with a shared meter, make sure the household size and eligible person are correctly recorded with the water corporation.
Which Groups May Qualify, Among Others?
- General Disability Pension recipients with a medical disability rating of at least 70%.
- Recipients of a Level 3 or higher Long-Term Care Benefit, including when the benefit is reduced because of income.
- Recipients of Attendance Allowance at a rate of at least 112%.
- Parents who receive a Disabled Child Allowance.
- Certain groups of victims of hostile actions.
- Disabled IDF veterans and members of the security forces at the rates or under the programs specified in Rehabilitation Department directives.
Who Determines Eligibility, and Who Implements It?
National Insurance or the Rehabilitation Department determines eligibility under the applicable program and sends lists to the Water Authority. The water corporation applies the benefit to the bill.
If the benefit does not appear, first verify the address, consumer number, and eligible person's details with the corporation. If the issue remains unresolved after the corporation's process has been completed, a request may be submitted to the Water Authority.
How the process works
- 01
Determine whether the benefit type and medical-disability percentage or long-term-care level are included in an eligible group.
- 02
Confirm that the residential address is current and that the water account is associated with the property where the eligible person lives.
- 03
Check the bill to see whether the additional allocation at the lower tariff has been applied.
- 04
If it is missing, contact the water corporation with eligibility confirmation and consumer details.
- 05
If no response is provided after the corporation's process is exhausted, examine whether to contact the Water Authority.
Documents you may need
- Current benefit or eligibility confirmation.
- Israeli identity card and addendum showing the current address.
- A current water bill and consumer number.
- Proof of residence or another document connecting the eligible person to the property, if required.
- Documentation of the prior request to the water corporation if the problem is ongoing.
Common mistakes to avoid
- An address that is not current in the population registry or the water corporation's records.
- A water account associated with another property or an incorrect consumer number.
- Confusing medical disability with degree of incapacity.
- Expecting a discount on all consumption rather than an additional allocation at the lower tariff.
- In a shared-meter building, failing to update household size or the eligible person's details with the corporation.
